Story Time - I(Macy) find out I am indeed expecting

I found out I was pregnant on Saturday, November 5th. Preston & I had decided to hopefully start our family & we were very lucky that we had no complications. ( I had hoped to get pregnant in October - because I was/am to be the Matron of Honor in my sisters wedding in August & did not want to be 9 months pregnant). So, the story goes like this...
I gave a friend a baby shower on the 5th of November & we were chatting about pregnancy tests - little did she know that I had already purchased one. Amazingly enough they are very accurate & you can find out as early as 3 weeks.
After the festivities & while I waited for Preston & a couple of friends to return to the house - I decided what the heck I might as well take one, however, I did think it was a tad early & fully expected for it to say not pregnant( I bought the digital readout - just to be sure that there was no mistake in reading it). So, all is quiet in the house & I do the routine & wait patiently(not really) . The directions read that the display will do a flashing thing - so I checked & yes it was - then I go back to the directions & it says - results within 1 minute. I thought WOW - I can check now - so I look & to my delighted surprise it said "Pregnant" - I jumped in the bathroom like a giddy girl... I could not wait to tell Preston! So anxiously I waited for him to return - but, we had plans to go to dinner with friends who returned with him. When they arrived, I asked him into the bedroom & said "look" & held up the test - he seemed a bit confused - what I didn't know is that the screen had gone blank - UGH!. I whispered - I'm pregnant! With a smile on his face & having to be quiet with friends in the other room - he gave me a 2 thumbs up. Pictures are about 2 months along.

Max is alert after a short nap... heavy on the short.

Here, Max is 6 days old. Eyes open and checking out his very new and close up world. Hopefully he doesn't get identity confusion and think the camera is one of his parents.

Thinking I was experiencing some symptoms of labor, the doc ordered me to head to the hospital to find out what was going on. Turns out it was a false alarm. During the wait for the "All Clear" from the doc, Preston had some spare time on his hands that he used to make a "False Alarm" sign to help document this occasion. Coincidentally, this was the day we had signed up to have our "maternity" tour of the hospital.

Memorial Day Weekend

We spent the weekend at a friend's place at Lake Billy Chinook (which is close to Bend, OR). I am about 33 weeks along - or close to 9 months.

Mother's Day Brunch

Not quite officially a mommy yet - about 8 months along. We treked to the coast to spend some time with my mom Macy. My grandmother Eikey, cousin Laura, sister Emilee all met up with my mom, Everett, Grandma Irene, & Everett's sister Evelyn, for a yummy brunch. However, because of my gestational diabetes - I had to limit my intake of sugar (rats =0) )

Family in the O.R. - July 13, 2006

These are the very first pictures of baby Max...that aren't of the ultrasound type.

Maxwell is finally here

Maxwell Laurence Bishop was born Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 7:52pm via cesarean.
He weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and measured 19-1/4 inches long. His Apgar scores were fabulous at 9 & 9. He made his entry into this world as stong and health as anybody could hope for...and darn cute too. :)

Preston & Macy here, Welcome to our first attempt at blogging. These postings aren't in perfect chronological order but, we think you'll get the picture...pun intended. We hope you enjoy our page and please feel free to add your comments.
